It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nicolina Valente on December 2, 2024, at the age of 94. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Nicolina lived a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to her faith.

The Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of St. Joseph at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 8361 Yonge Street, Thornhill, ON, L3T 2C7, in the Holy Family Mausoleum.

Rozalija (Rose) Brozic, née Farkas, born in Hotiza, Slovenia, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, at Dom Lipa Retirement Home, Toronto, Ontario. She was 91 years old. Rose was predeceased by her parents Ivan and Maria of Hotiza, Slovenia, her beloved husband Ivan, and her siblings Maria, Ivan, and Elizabeth Gerkas.
She is lovingly remembered by her brother Steven (Ruth) of Cobourg, Ontario, her children Dan (Mary-Ann), Rosemarie (Marcel), Betty Nave (David), and John (Sandy), and her grandchildren Danielle (Derek), Lauren (Nathan), Connor, and Kylie. Rose also leaves behind a great-granddaughter, Hattie Bryans, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rose’s kind heart, radiant spirit, and love of gardening brought joy to everyone around her. Her fond memories of times spent at the family farms and her nurturing nature will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her.

Born in Dagupan City, Philippines, to the late Jose Amante Licuanan Sr. and Lilia Licuanan, Jean was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister who brought joy and strength to all who knew her.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Kristel Licuanan (Christopher), and her cherished grandchildren, Jaylene, Matteo, and Khloe. Jean is also survived by her siblings Joyceline, Jannette, Joel, Jacquiline, and Jojo.

Eduardo is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Maria Natalia Monteiro (2022). He will be dearly missed by his children, Henry Monteiro and Ana Dorevich (Chris Dorevich). It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Victoria Korte (nee Simon) on November 22, 2024, at the age of 90. Victoria’s journey in life was marked by resilience, courage, and a deep love for her family and faith.
Born in Kamenka, Russia, within the Volga-German community, on June 29, 1934, Victoria endured significant hardships during WWII. She and her family fled the Soviet Union, eventually settling in Bavaria. At 19, she courageously emigrated to Canada, seeking a brighter future. Victoria found a sense of belonging at St. Patrick’s German Catholic Parish in Toronto, where she met her beloved husband, Franz-August Korte.
Victoria was the devoted mother of Bernard (Monika), Connie (Michael), Tom (Helga), and Christine. She cherished her role as Oma to 12 grandchildren and Great Oma to eight great-grandchildren. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Fernando was the adored father of John (Dawn), Dianne, Monica (Camron), and Paul (Kathryn) and the proud Nonno to Derek, Shane, and Penny. He will be deeply missed by his brothers and sisters both in Canada and Italy, as well as by his extended family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that we announce the peaceful passing of Mario Carpino on October 9, 2024, at the age of 88. He passed away at Elginwood Long Term Care, surrounded by love and care. Mario was reunited with his parents, Giuseppe and Eugenia, and his brother Frank.
Mario was a devoted husband to Maria (nee De Rose) for 65 wonderful years. He was a loving father to Jenny (Joe), Pina (Rick), and Luisa (Ivan), and a proud Nonno to his grandchildren Nina, Mario, Lucas, and Aiden. Mario will be deeply missed by his extended family and friends, and his memory will forever be cherished.
